Trust and security

What we do, what we never do, and how you can check for yourself.

One record, two readers

The landlord and the tenant see the same charges, payments and activity list. There is no private version.

No quiet edits

Entries are never edited or deleted behind anyone’s back. A mistake is reversed with a reason that both of you can read.

Both sides confirm

A payment the landlord records, the tenant can agree with or report. A payment the tenant says they made, the landlord confirms or declines.

Only the two of you can open it

A tenancy opens only for its landlord and for the tenant whose verified number it belongs to. Everyone else sees “page not found”.

Login without passwords

A one-time code goes to your phone. Codes expire in 10 minutes, allow a few tries, and are stored only as hashes.

Safer listings

No phone numbers or links in listings, no wording that asks for money before a visit, and listings with several reports are hidden.

What we never do

  • Hold your rent or deposit. Money goes from tenant to landlord. We keep the notes.
  • Ask for Aadhaar, PAN, bank details or passwords. We do not collect them.
  • Sell your data or show ads.
  • Message tenants about anything except their own rent. No promotions. Tenants can turn reminders off.
  • Show your phone number to strangers. In the marketplace, numbers stay hidden until each person chooses to share.

How you can check

  • Open any tenancy and read the Activity list. Every payment, charge, reversal, rent change and message is there for both people.
  • Try to open someone else’s tenancy link. You will get “page not found”.
  • Landlords can download their payment records any time, so you never depend on us to keep your own books.

Staying safe when renting

  • Visit the place and meet the owner before paying anything.
  • Never pay a “token” or “advance” to hold a place you have not seen.
  • Get a written rental agreement, and a receipt for every payment.
  • RentEase will never ask you for money. If anyone says they are from RentEase and asks for money, report it to us.
