Terms of use

The rules for using RentEase. We have kept them short and plain.

Last updated 9 October 2026

These terms are between you and RentEase (“we”). By creating an account or using RentEase you agree to them and to our Privacy policy.

What RentEase is

RentEase is a record-keeping tool for rent, and a place to post and find rental listings. We are not a party to any tenancy or agreement between a landlord and a tenant. We are not a broker, a bank, a payment service, a law firm or a tax adviser, and nothing on RentEase is legal, tax or financial advice.

We do not hold, move or guarantee rent or deposits. Tenants pay landlords directly. If a payment is made through your UPI app, that is between you, your bank and the other person.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and use your own mobile number.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not share your login codes.
  • Keep your details accurate. Tell us if you lose access to your number.

The shared record

  • Records are entered by the landlord and the tenant. Each person is responsible for the accuracy of what they enter.
  • Entries cannot be edited or deleted silently. A mistaken entry is corrected by a reversal with a reason, which both people can see.
  • A record showing as “confirmed” means the person on the other side confirmed or did not dispute it in RentEase. It is not a court finding. If you disagree, use the report option and settle it between yourselves or through the proper legal route.
  • Receipts and statements are generated from the record. Tenants who claim HRA should check what their employer and the tax rules require.

Listings and conversations

  • Post only places you have the right to let, with honest details and your own photos.
  • Never ask anyone for money before they have visited the place and met you. Listings that do so are blocked or removed.
  • Do not post phone numbers, email addresses or links in listings or messages. Use “Share my number” when you are ready.
  • No harassment, discrimination that is unlawful, spam, fake listings or misuse of anyone’s data.
  • People can report listings. Listings with several reports are hidden while we review them, and we may remove content or accounts that break these terms.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people it is meant for, and display published listings, so that the service can work.

Early access and changes

RentEase is in early access. Features may change, and the service may be unavailable at times. It is free today. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you in the app before they apply, and tenants will not be charged to see their own records. You can download your payment records at any time.

Our responsibility

We work hard to keep the service reliable and your data safe, but we provide it “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from a dispute between landlord and tenant, from information entered by users, from payments made outside RentEase, or from things outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under law that cannot be limited.

Ending your use

You can stop using RentEase whenever you like and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy policy). We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If we cannot resolve a complaint with you, the courts at the place of our registered office in India have jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have as a consumer.
